Richard Gorelick was appointed The Baltimore Sun's restaurant critic in September 2010. Before joining the paper staff fulltime, he contributed freelance criticism and features articles about food to area and regional publications. Along the way, he dispatched for short-distance trucking companies, shilled for cultural non-profits, and assisted in cognitive neurology research – never the subject, always the control.
He takes restaurants seriously but not himself, and his favorite restaurant is the one you love, too.

When younger and newly married we ate 2 for $20 fajitas and a pitcher of margaritas at Nacho Mama's. Now we go to Wed. night Lobster night at Capt. Harvey's in Reisterstown. A big change!

hi elizabeth. i'm not sure if they still have it, but coburn's in canton used to have a great monday night special. for $20 you get: soup or salad, choice of any appetizer on the menu, and choice of any entree on the menu. the last time i ate there was last summer so you might want to call for comfirmation. the menu is finer food than the average bar.

Mother's has $10 entre's on Thurs Nights.
A close 2nd (its $14, but worth it!) is Sly Fox has $14 Lobster with 2 sides on Tuesday's. It's half price wine night too (glasses and botles), so you can get out of there for under $20 with a tasty meal and drink!

Claddagh Pub in Canton has (I think still) some great weeknight specials, like NY strip with mashers and veg for $15. Also $10 off bottles of wine on Mon and Tues.
