Eclipse movie reviews

eclipse movie reviews

Nancy is headed to the Maryland Science Center tonight for the release of Eclipse, the latest movie adaptation from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. (Nancy says she's not a Twi-hard, but I think she harbors a secret crush for Edward.) She'll be tweeting from the show, so if you want wall-to-wall coverage check in with ReadStreet on Twitter. Meanwhile, here's a look at the fans who turned out for a local Twilight marathon and excerpts from Eclipse movie reviews:

New York Times -- If there is a bit more humor on display here ... there is also more violence, and, true to the film’s title, a deeper intimation of darkness. What there isn’t, as usual, is much in the way of good acting, with the decisive and impressive exception of Ms. Stewart, who can carry a close-up about as well as anyone in movies today.

Los Angeles Times -- "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is back with all of the lethal and loving bite it was meant to have: The kiss of the vampire is cooler, the werewolf is hotter, the battles are bigger and the choices are, as everyone with a pulse (and a few without) knows by now, life-changing.

USA Today -- While director David Slade's unnerving psychological drama Hard Candy (2005) was fascinating in its unpredictability, he is hampered here by Meyer's leaden plot, adapted like the previous ones by Melissa Rosenberg. Early scenes have a gritty tension, but the rest of the movie, with its slow pacing and lackluster cinematography, doesn't live up to that initial promise.

Hollywood Reporter -- It took three films, but "The Twilight Saga" finally nails just the right tone in "Eclipse," a film that neatly balances the teenage operatic passions from Stephenie Meyer's novels with the movies' supernatural trappings. Where the first film leaned heavily on camp and the second faltered through caution and slickness, "Eclipse" moves confidently into the heart of the matter -- a love triangle that causes a young woman to realize choices lead to consequences that cannot be reversed.

Amazing reviews! I can't wait to see what happens in this one... it's about time Bella takes a chance on Jake rather than Edward - who knows if she'll go through with the proposal! I am dying to see the outbreak of war!

I love the 2 movies out right now but tomorrow i'm going to see eclipse and im looking forward 2 it. I love the 2 hottest guys Taylor Lautner a killer warewolf Robert Pattinson a protective vampire. Romance, adrenalin, and action totally wakes me up. Also im only 11 and i like your acting and movies but i have posters of the hotties. ... Guess what Kristen i named my cat after you BELLA thats what a big fan i am i even made my very own frame for Edward and a folder of the twilight sereies all my opinions so call me!!!.

I went to see this movie at 1217 a.m. I'm not disappointed it is a great love story. This movie turned out to be just what i had expected, because i have read all Stephanie's books. Iam trying to be patient because Breaking Dawn is going to be off the hook. Breaking Dawn is going to be divided into 2 parts and u r going to want to see both, fullll of surprises. Iam 39 years old, and i will always be a Twilight fan.

The end is over and the fans are savoring the launch of the third film of the Twilight series. The fans also want to forget the disappointment of the last film that was released last year and couldn’t rule the box office as it was being expected.

I am pleased that this third movie has been directed more professionally. The continuity and cinematography is much improved. TEAM CHARLIE

I watched Eclipse last night. Best twilight movie yet. It was awesome.
I think David Slade did a great job with this movie. I got exactly what i wanted and more. :)
Team Edward

Im so excited!!! Cant wait!!

I'm trying to figure out what people are smoking. I'm a big Twilight fan. I've read the books, seen the movies, and just got back from watching 'Eclipse' ..... it was absolutely horrible in comparison to the last two movies. I understand that the central theme of these books is the incredible love triangle Bella finds herself in; but this was ridiculous. The battle lasted a total of five minutes, the backgrounds on Jasper and Rosalie were limited. If I wanted to watch two hours of making out, I'd go watch reruns of Dawson's Creek. I expected a lot more, considering the book was so good.

I am really curious about the third part of Twilight. I absolutely loved the books and the first movie was great, too. However the second one was rather disappointing. I really hope the this one will be more like the first one.

I saw all three movies at the same time at the Twilight Saga Showing. I'm disappointed in Eclipse I really wish they would stick closer to the books. (Which I like) Eclipse was like watching the book in fast forward never getting the whole story. Don't get me wrong I like the characters or the actors, But read the books again and stay with it. (my pet peve is changing all the actors LINES !)
Please don't ruin Breaking Dawn it the last chance to get it right. Team Charlie

I have yet to see Eclipse because of lack of time in my busy schedule! I have heard that it is the best one yet. I cant wait to see it, I am and always will be Team Edward!! Also cant wait to see Breaking Dawn!

Eclipse was the best movie so far the first movie '' Twilight '' in my opinion was the worst one so far '' Newmoon '' was good but if you have seen eclipse you will be delighted with the outcome.
Kerrie- they cant show every detail of the book or else it would be like 6 hourse long ?
