Freebie Friday: Jodi Picoult's 'House Rules'

houserules.jpg

Another Friday, another impending snowstorm of doom.

Meanwhile, I'm re-reading the Percy Jackson series, because the movie based on the first book, "The Lightning Thief," is in theaters Feb. 12th. Considering there are five books total, that should keep me occupied for a while.

But on to our winner. Congratulations, Julie P.! You've won "You Couldn't Ignore Me if You Tried." I hope it brings back lots of good memories!

Our next giveaway is Jodi Picoult's latest, "House Rules." The novel tells the story of Jacob Hunt, an 18-year-old with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism that makes it impossible for the boy to have friends, live without a routine, or even tell his mother he loves her. So when he's accused of murdering his tutor, his fragile world goes completely out of control.

You know the deal: Tell us what you're reading, and you could be reading this one next week.

Congrats, Julie!

I'm almost finished with "Bonfire of the Vanities" by Tom Wolfe and am about to move on to "Garden Spells" by Sarah Addison Allen for my book club.

I hope you're not getting too much snow. We're getting rain from the same storm, and so far today, we've gotten 4 inches. I'm reading The Glass Room by Simon Mawer.

I am so excited to win this book! I grew up during the 80s so it's just perfect. Thanks so much!

I just finished Tom Perotta's Joe College and am on to something by Lionel Shriver.

I'm reading The Silent Governess.

I'm reading Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science by Richard Holmes.

I'm reading "Outcasts United," about a soccer team of immigrant kids. It's a potential choice for the 2010 One Maryland, One Book program.

I LOVE Picoult. I've read every book and own most of them. Can't wait for this one as a teacher with autistic children, and nephew with aspergers. Just finished reading Glass Castles by Jeannette Walls, Crossworlds by Marc Romano, and The Likeness by Tana French.

I am reading Blacklands by Belinda Bauer.

I LOVE Jodi Picoult and have read all her books. Right now I am reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer and I'm also reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane on my Kindle.

I'm reading Black Water by T. Jefferson Parker.
