Sneak peek at Harry Potter theme park's Hogwarts Castle

hogwarts castle at harry potter theme park

Here's an updated look at Hogwarts Castle, part of a new theme park attraction called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. As we noted earlier on Read Street, the new attraction -- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey -- is scheduled to open this spring.

Rides will include the Dragon Challenge twin roller coaster and the family roller coaster Flight of the Hippogriff, according to Universal. And there will be plenty of Potter-themed merchandise, including chocolate frogs, "Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans" and Butterbeer.

I like the look so far -- it mixes the ominous and the fanciful -- and hope the rest of The Wizarding World does the same.

WOW! that looks amazing. i cant believe their almost done. ive been checking and looking at photos since 2007 and cant wait to be one of the first ones there. i intend on going to the theme park the first day dressed up as harry potter full with joy. and from this photo i can tell that i wont be dissapointed. AWESOME JOB!

I just found out about it today... This looks totally awesome! I can't wait! I really wish I lived closer. lol

Awesome! it's almost done! and it's so perfect, I thought they were making only the Griffindor Tower and the Great Hall, but they are making everything! the bridge, the Astronomic Tower and more. Just amazing!

How old are you joshua? hopefully not an adult.

Come on Michael does it matter what age Edd is

So, is Hoqwarts Castle the shell - meant to be seem only - that Sleeping Beauty's castle seemed to be, or is there substance inside the edifice?

I think we should grant Joshua the right to gush -- no matter how old he is. Have you seen the way middle-aged men dress for Ravens games -- with body paint, beads, feathers, etc.?

Eve, Universal says visitors will be able to go into the castle, but I couldn't find any specifics about the attractions there.

Castle is so awesome.

The ride "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey " is inside the castle. Go to this website:

The ride in the castle is a robocoaster. They have a robotic arm ride in Legoland and I wouldn't go on it because it whips you around like a rag doll. I think the one in Universal will be tamer because it moves on a track. It is described here:
