John Edwards acknowledges love-child with Rielle Hunter, as tell-all book nears
If you like your politics rare and juicy, it doesn't get any better than the John Edwards fall, which will soon be laid out in "The Politician," a book by former aide Andrew Young. With the book scheduled for a Feb. 2 release, Edwards has made a pre-emptive strike, acknowledging for the first time that he fathered a child with videographer Rielle Hunter. "I am Quinn's father," the former senator declared in his statement, as the second birthday of Frances Quinn Hunter approaches.
If you recall, Young for a time said he was the child's father -- a bid to protect Edwards' presidential aspirations. In fact, Young fell on so many swords for the boss that he must look like Swiss cheese. How sordid was it? In an excerpt from an upcoming interview with ABC News, Young alleges that Edwards asked him to arrange a fake a paternity test. "Get a doctor to fake the DNA results," Young said Edwards told him. "And he asked me ... to steal a diaper from the baby so he could secretly do a DNA test to find out if this [was] indeed his child."
The publisher says Young's book "offers a truly disturbing, even shocking perspective on the risks taken and tactics employed by a man determined to rule the most powerful nation on earth." It all would by laughable if not for Elizabeth Edwards, who had to endure her husband's cheating -- while dealing with her incurable cancer. She wrote about the issues in her 2009 book, Resilience.

Well, I just lost what little respect I had for John Edwards.

I don't think americans - not males- not females- deal w the deeper truthful matters- like sex, or death very well (nor do many other cultures) (look at islamic cultures- where you can't even see a woman's face!!)
the sexism- the puritanism!
media sort of " cluck clucks" over edwards- what are their sex lives like?

Really David? Cluck cluck? He cheated on his terminally ill wife and sired another child, all while denying he was the dad. That makes him a douche in any culture.

Christine- good point- I think I am talking more about the dishonesty- the lack of trash (trans) parency
there are certain males who live only in their di ks
they lie like fish
now- do they speak? for all males?
should all males have harems?
do all males chase women regardless of commitment?
and imagine the lies of an obama, a bush, a clinton (bill AND hillary)? a palin
that's what bothers me
can u see what i'm sayiit gets a bit complicated- w shades of grey/gray
but- literature nor society try to understand wheter males are like this by nature?

Edwards is a throwback (literally and figuratively) to a different time. He didn't get the memo. The only discussion point and therefore reason for this book would be his reason for lying. Something about 'really complicated reasons'. What a stunning revealation. The vast majority of lies are for complicated reasons. What a vapid, self-serving jerk.....
