Why would anyone select "I own a home and want to wait for prices to fall further before buying elsewhere "
That makes no sense. Waiting for prices to fall further justs hurts you more on the selling side. Logic would dictate you sel now, rent then buy later if you feel prices will fall further.
Only a fool would buy in baltimore city iwth the current tax rate.

George, rising rents could help explain why that's the most popular answer in the not-buying-or-selling group so far (out of a small number of votes, of course). If your monthly payments are much lower than the rent for something similar and you don't think you're in danger of ending up underwater on your mortgage, you might just stay put for a while.
If you're in that group, what's your reasoning?

I almost wrote in an "other" for you--"I like where I am but nobody would buy my half-renovated place anyway!"

Jamie, interesting poll. Move. Inc. recently released a housing survey which showed that while one quarter of Americans plan to buy a home in the future, only 2% plan to purchase in the next 12 months and 23.1% say they've delayed purchasing a home because of the real estate market in their area. The delay is tied to three factors: uncertainty about future prices, concern about the economy and jobs, and difficulty saving for down payments.

Thanks, Jill -- that's interesting.
Mary, you made me chuckle!
