I've never been a big fan of credit cards, and so my biggest challenge was building sufficient credit for a mortgage during the worst of the "credit crunch" last summer.

It was no mean feat, and it took several months, but my suspicion that you actually CAN beat the credit rating computers at their own game was correct.

I managed to build a very good score and secure a good rate, and by paying my mortgage on time and financing (and then immediately paying off) my home furnishings, my score might well be over 800 this time next year.

As for the renovated rowhouse I bought in Waverly... I love everything about it and I couldn't be happier.
