Baltimore in the news
The New York Times travel section shone a spotlight on Baltimore yesterday, suggesting destinations in town for a weekend trip. For instance, the "wooded, stream-filled oasis" that is the Jones Falls Trail, and the "strangest" of offbeat theater options at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson.
Where would you suggest out-of-towners go if they want to see Baltimore? (Or Annapolis or anywhere else in the region?)
Thanks to Mike B. for noticing the "36 Hours in Baltimore" piece.

We have some great museums. The B&O, American Visionary Art, BMA, Walters, Great Blacks in Wax, The Reginald F. Lewis...plenty of opportunities for tourists to soak up Baltimore history.

I think the Times piece did a fairly good job, though I've rarely seen hipsters share cigs with hons in Hampden, as the article claims: there simply aren't many real hons around Hampden anymore.
One thing they did completely miss: Second Chance, the gargantuan salvage/antique place just south of the Ravens' stadium. Sending people on a drive to Howard County when they could simply take light rail (or walk!) a few blocks is a bit of a crime, regardless of how pretty EC may be. Pigtown has a rough reputation, but during the day (when the Second Chance warehouses are open), my wife and I have never felt remotely threatened in the area.
