More people searching for Baltimore real estate
Realtor.com says consumer searches for homes listed in the Baltimore metro area on its site last month increased 27 percent from the year before. That means more people are looking -- or at least researching -- even if that hasn't yet translated into sales. (Home sales in the Baltimore metro area dropped 30 percent in July, according to Metropolitan Regional Information Systems.)
The increase in searches ranks the Baltimore area 37th among the 135 largest markets, Realtor.com says. It would be higher than that if the site's definition of "market" didn't split the Washington metro area into three (Maryland side, DC section and Virginia side); increases in those Washington areas ranged from 31 percent to 49 percent.
The biggest jump in searches was a 141 percent increase for Stockton-Lodi, Calif. The smallest was a 1.1 percent increase for Wilmington, N.C.

Jamie, really enjoy the blog. Your blog has been a very helpful resource as my wife and I try to sort through the process of buying a home.
If you take a voluntary buy-out too, go to MASN and be sure to start a real estate blog there. I'm sure they can make it fit somehow.
Thanks again.

Aw, thanks. I don't plan to quit, but I will be on an extended maternity leave starting around October. I'm trying to make the best use of time until then.

There have also been rumors that Britney's site is getting more hits than last year, which is a sure sign of housing market recovery.
