Maps of the most and least expensive areas

A clever Wonk reader (who doesn't want credit) has taken my lists of the most and least expensive communities in the Baltimore metro area and mapped them.

Want to see where these places are? Then click ...

--HERE for the most and least expensive ZIP codes in the region

--HERE for the most and least expensive city neighborhoods

--HERE for the least expensive suburban ZIP codes

Good job by Clever Reader. Now, if the Sun could do this type of analysis, that would be great. Remember the people who read your blog most often are experts, who are interested in this stuff, quite possibly not the folks you think you are appealing to.

I'm doing this blog for fellow wonks, Christian. I'd certainly run off anyone who doesn't like numbers, don't you think?

The Sun frequently runs real estate related maps -- I just can't ask our graphics folks to do likewise for this blog. As it is, I'm mostly spending my own time on it.

Thank you. Jamie, I look at 100 houses per week, specialize in 1 square mile, am on every message board, drive every street, there is nothing you can do but hurt Baltimore.

I never have weekends, never do anything but serve clients in the city.... ask my wife. What you do mass publically is easy, trite even. What I have noticed is your bias agianst Baltimore, and favor towards Nisha (who knows nothing).

Stop dis-sing our town, State... If you have a problem, put it were the Sun doesn't shine!

My last comment sucks...

Christian, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I have no bias against Baltimore. I don't know if you're speaking about the metro area or the city, but either way, I'm not rubbing my hands, hoping for negative news to report. This is my home and has been for nearly my entire life.

My only goal as a reporter is to tell people what's happening and -- as much as possible -- explain why. I don't get paid more for negative stories. I don't get paid more for blogging. And I certainly don't get paid more as a reporter than I could make in other fields.

Who is Nisha, by the way?

Nishea - os the negative blog you promote.... STOP!!! You don't even know? Crazy stuff... You bash Realtors, you think"you know it all," I haven't seen it in the least.

How dare you promote a site and not know the name... She is a bitter girl, its on your left hand side!!!!!!

I see it every time I come to your site!

Christian, I still have no idea what you're talking about. These are the blogs listed in my blogroll:

Lansner on Real Estate
The Housing Bubble blog
Bankrate.com’s Fed blog
Holden Lewis' mortgage blog

The Housing Bubble blog, as I think I've mentioned before, is nothing more than excerpts from news reports across the country. It's not commentary -- or at least it's never been anytime I've looked.

You know that I am CITY... WTF.

Very sad Christian, very sad.

Hello Jamie, I read your blog several times a week, as it belongs to the more interesting ones about the subject. It is relatively dry and objective, which is a sharp contrast to all the stadium-like noise which surrounds the subject...and as for whining realtors who seem to be your most active readers: it was easy cash for some time, wasn't it? Now as the gold rush is over, the profession could be changed again...

I for one have not seen any bias here. I think you just have a troll. The posts by Dunn aren't even making sense to me, just stirring negative trouble. Jamie, keep doing your good work.
