Good news, bad news
Good news: Today's story about Maryland's employment picture notes that new government numbers show employers adding 9,200 jobs here in November, second-largest increase in the country.
Bad news: We won't know for at least another month whether it's a statistical hiccup.
The estimates are frequently revised, sometimes significantly, said Robert A. Dye, senior economist with PNC Financial Services Group. ..."We need to see several months of increase in order to have more confidence," Dye said. "There's no way to tell ... whether this is going to stick or not."
Ah, the joy of surveys.
