WYPR Midday: Radio resumes, look for a job

Today at 1 on WYPR (FM 88.1) My colleage Dan Rodricks will be talking about the job market. Listen, call and tell employers who might be listening why you've got the stuff.

1:00-2:00 pm today on Midday Midday invites you to take part in another Radio Resume hour. We'd like to hear about your experiences trying to find a job, what type of work you're looking for, and your qualifications. A prospective employer might be listening. Joining us in the studio to offer his advice to job seekers will be Patrick Madsen, director of programs and education at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Office of Career Services.

I want to return to the workplace after taking time off to raise children. I want to build on my successful business and teaching career. My background is in management consulting with experience in performance improvement, project management, strategic planning, financial management systems, business development, and team leadership. I also taught at Towson University's business school and have int'l experience working in Tokyo. I have an M.B.A. and want to stay in Baltimore. My ideal job would involve using my business process improvement skills to help a company or organization reach a higher level of success.

Hey Jay: Thanks for posting this. Lots of calls and e-mails from job-seekers on the show today -- and, I'm happy to report, at least four contacts from employers interested in hiring the people who called in. Know anyone who works on boats? Got a guy in a boatyard who's looking for a worker. Dan

Maby i want to return to the workplace after taking time off to raise children too.
