Who's your favorite Beatle?

This is an outrage.

UTICA, New York - When it comes to picking their favorite lad from Liverpool, Americans say Paul (27%) is their favorite Beatle, with John taking a distant second at 16%, and far fewer choosing George Harrison (10%) or Ringo Starr (9%) a new Zogby Interactive poll shows.

I seem to recall similar numbers back in the sixties but usually when the sample was limited to the teenybopper girls in their gogo boots.

As with all polls...

Paul. Totally Paul. John's a close second.

Any drummer will tell you that Ringo, taken strictly as a musician, is massively under-rated by the public at large.

I'm a Ringo man from way back. When I first started listening to the radio as a boy, the Beatles were already busted up and doing solo work. of the 4, Ringo's music was the most accessible to young me. And even then I thought Paul was too sappy.

One of the first albums I ever requested from my parents was "Ringo", featuring "You're 16", "Photograph" and "Oh My My." (The actual first album was Stevie Wonder's "Talking Book".)
