What is it? Economic mystery image of the day

These tubes can often be seen parked on the southbound side of I-95 near Caton Avenue during morning rush hour. They're on their way from the port to their new home in the mountains. Anybody got a guess? Answer next week. TUBES%20001.jpg TUBES%20004.jpg

Shafts for wind turbines.

That, or ventilation ductwork for the "secret" congressional hideaway in West Virginia.

They are pieces to a tunnel boring machine.

Jay:

They're are parts of wind turbines aren't they?

I've been driving by them for months, I figured it out one day when they had the blades on the side of the road.

My questions are where did they come from? Europe I assume. How many total are being shipped through the port? Seems like it's a lucractive business for the port, as we're the closest port to the mountains.

Mark

I was going to guess wind turbines too since parts that look like blades are often parked there too.
