Travelers choosing BWI for its cheap fares
I wrote today about how BWI Airport has seen an uptick in passengers in four out of the last six months because people are flying its discount airlines.
Thanks to economy, many people aren't traveling at all. But those who are taking trips are looking for the best price out there.
More than 63 percent of BWI's flights are with discount airlines Southwest, AirTran and JetBlue. If you do enough comparison shopping you can normally find a good deal.
Take our poll and let us know how you decide which airport to use.

I think that ease of transportation, particularly cheap/convenient public transportation, is super important. I don't want to spend almost as much as my flight on a shuttle from an out-of-the-way airport, or be forced to call an expensive cab because public transportation isn't operating in the early morning or late night when my flight leaves.

I chose that I go to the airport that is closest, but I think that it is a combination of many of the factors. Price combined with closeness. Access means something, to me. I couldn't care about the cheapest parking. Fortunately the closest and cheapest is usually BWI for me. But I don't fly very often.

If I can't fly BWI, I would go to Philadephia before I would go National or Dulles in D.C. Terrible traffic makes D.C. a pain!

I prefer BWI due to it's price (on Domestic Flights) and Location (accessible by Train). I went to Canada this summer and it was cheaper to go out of Philly by a $150 RT. I also live on the Northside of Baltimore, so Dulles and Philadelphia are equal in distance.
