I am going into my junior year of college & have never had trouble getting private student loans. For the past two years, Citibank has given me loans, but this year, I was rejected! Then Wells Fargo offered me a loan, but unfortunately my father was not eligible as a co-signer because he is not a US citizen (we are both US Green Card holders & permanent residents). Since then, I've been rejected by Chase & PNC.
My father makes "too much" money for me to get considerable federal aid, however he has good credit & is willing to co-sign my loans. I missed one credit card payment in Nov 2007, & I am slightly above my credit limit. My credit score is 679.
What can I do to be approved for a loan? Where should I look, which loan companies might be more forgiving? Thank you!
