Treasures at thrift stores

It may be a once-in-a-lifetime situation, but here's proof that thrift stores can be a place to shop for very valuable stuff!

Check out John Woestendiek's story about a painting by French Impressionist Edouard-Leon Cortes that was donated to a Goodwill Super Store in Easton, on the Eastern Shore.

Employees set it aside for a closer look, and the item ended up sold at Sotheby's for $40,000.

The moral of this story:

one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Makes shopping at thrift stores seem that much more tempting.
