Are you man enough for this bag?

They're back!

OK. Maybe they never went away, but Bloomberg News tells me that the man bag trend is back. The man-purse. The city-bag. Whatever you want to call it. That thing to your left is a purse made for men. I'm not kidding.

Not to judge, but that's a cute enough purse that I would carry it.

And while I'm all for a guy taking a shower and looking presentable, I'm still not sure how I'd feel about my guy spending a couple thousand dollars on a designer bag in which to carry his keys, wallet and phone. I'd probably tease him without mercy.

Disagree if you'd like, but I'm of the mindset that no woman wants competition in the mirror from the dude in her life and most of us would frown upon you spending thousands on a purse.

I've been trying to convince my husband to carry a man purse for years. It would be so nice not to have to be the one to hold his sunglasses, keys, wallet, cell phone, etc.

Of course I don't want him spending a thousand bucks on the thing either. I'd say something in the $20-30 range would be perfectly adequate.

i must tell you, as a fella in nyc, a straight guy, with a regular lifestyle (get on the train, head to work, head out to dinner and head on train home) a backpack or briefcase isnt always the best item to carry my daily stuff. you say -I'm still not sure how I'd feel about my guy spending a couple thousand dollars on a designer bag in which to carry his keys, purse and phone. well- JACK SPADE doesnt have any bags for $1000, and i hope men are not carrying a purse (inside their bag) you must live ina city where you get in your lil car and drive around, we here have to lug stuff around, to and fro and sometimes even to a dinner or event..i bet if we were out and you were havinga good time youd end up stashing your purse in my bag, so dont come visit if youll tease.

DD: Not even if it's just light-hearted teasing?!

Murse!

DD: aeb, MURSE! I LOVE that!

Why do only women get to buy expensive bags?

I want a crocodile Dunhill briefcase! :-)
